#won't get into it but the symbolism of the flowers growing from the walkers in the opening credits ties into this perfectly

I think Clementine going back to her old house would have just been like, a terrible decision, narratively speaking.
My biggest takeaway from S4's plot was about moving on from the past and in turn making way for the future. I mean this can't be more obvious when the season's villain is literally a character from Clem's past, way back in S1. And in a sense, Lilly does hold, at least in my opinion, a lot of these old world values of re-establishing order and bringing back old society, which is a common theme among TWDG villains (Carver, David, Joan, etc.).
But obviously this whole idea is best seen in Clementine and AJ's relationship, more specifically Clem having to come to terms with the fact that she can't raise AJ on these old ideas and morals, because he is a rare instance of a child who can't remember life before the walkers. And we see in the scene in the cave where as hadd she might try, Clem has to move on from the past and accept that the world is a different place now, and I really love it! It feels like such a natural conclusion to her story.
So the idea of her going back fo Atlanta is just... Huh???? Like what would she gain from that? It reads as just being fan service for the sake of it and feels really out of character. Glad they writers changed their minds.
sooo glad we live in the universe where twdgs4 was rewritten to be about saving the school instead of the original lis2-esque on the road each-episode-is-a-new-location plot. really dodged a bullet there
dont know if it was due to the cuts and collapsing work environment (no budget for all the assets needed) or what but the school plot is just like the perfect setting for her to end her story. and we really almost got a plot about her.... just trying to make it back to her original house? oof
